How to Intrigue Your Craft & Jewelry Show Customers and Get Them to Buy More

If you want to sell more handmade jewelry at craft and jewelry shows, sometimes you need to do something a little different. You have to work hard to distinguish youself from the ever increasing number of jewelry designers who are flooding the market with their creations. Customers love surprises and discounts which is the basis for this idea for selling more handmade jewelry at shows.

The idea is to decorate a cardboard box with a top with beautiful handmade paper. Use paper that makes the box appear very artistic and elegant. Once you've completed the box, set it aside to take with your to your next craft show. Now, design a series of around ten different discount offers such as:

 

10% off your total purchase, when you purchase a pair of earrings

Free earrings with a purchase of necklace and bracelet

Free handmade ring when your order totals $25.00 or more.

Etc.

I'm sure you get the idea. Set these up on your computer and print them out. Cut each printed discount into a rectangular strip and place them into your decorated box. You'll need to print out multiple copies. You should have enough printed discount strips so that each customer who comes into your booth can have one.

As you head out to your next craft or jewelry show, take this box with you. When a customer comes into your booth, give them a chance to close their eyes and dip their hand in to the "goody" box and pull out a secret discount. Once they have their discount, encourage them to take their time looking and you'll be happy to reward them their discount when they check out. Make them feel special as if they've won something and you'll find your customer eager to purchase jewelry from you.

This is a great way to get your customer excited about your jewelry and what you have to offer. Give it a try and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.
