Jewelry Marketing Simplified: A Simple & Free Way to Sell More Jewelry
We all want to sell more of our handmade jewelry, but I sometimes think we make it more complicated than it needs to be. We feel like we have to have a fancy pancy website and all of the accessories in order to have a chance in the world of jewelry design. This is just not true! Sometimes simpler is better.
Here’s a simple (and free) jewelry marketing strategy that can make work for you if you put it into practice:
1. Make a list of five friends who work outside the home and come in contact with
lots of people on a daily basis.
2. Lend each of the friends on your list an eye catching necklace from your
collection. You want the necklaces to be some of your more attention getting
pieces for this marketing campaign.
3. Have them wear your necklace to work on a regular basis. (You might need to
lend them more than one necklace as most people won’t want to wear the same
necklace everyday.
4. Also give them a small stack of business cards each with their own unique
tracking number on it.
5. Let them know them know that they’ll receive a commission from you on each
sale they generate while wearing your necklace. When a person compliments
their necklace, they can simply hand them a business card with your contact
information and the tracking number inscribed on it.
6. When you’re contacted with the order, you ask for the tracking number, so you
can keep track of the commissions you owe your friends.
This is also an excellent way to get your name out there and get free publicity for your jewelry. Plus, this is all happening while you’re at home designing jewelry. It’s a win/win situation.
