MORE Craft Show Profits with LESS Work!
Would you like to make more money selling your handmade jewelry at craft and jewelry shows with LESS work?
I know some of you create gorgeous, one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry pieces that might take several hours to make. Understandably, you have to charge a high price for such time intensive work. When you sell a piece, you may recover the cost of your time plus make a profit. Unfortunately, too much time may elapse between sales of these high end pieces.
Now might be a good time to consider adding some items that you can make quickly and easily. These would make great impulse purchases for your craft show customers and would result in additional profits for you.
Why not consider adding a selection of simple earrings created out of unusual beads and sterling silver or gold filled findings? Price them in the under $20.00 range and you have the makings of a quick mover. You could also consider making inexpensive wire rings or bangles out of sterling silver or gold-filled wire. These are often very quick sellers at craft and jewelry shows. To find out more about this click here.
I have a friend who markets her jewelry primariliy through area craft shows. She specializes in making very unusual, chunky necklaces out of semiprecious beads and sterling silver. Her necklaces are quite elaborate and require alot of expensive materials to create. She was pricing them at $75.00 to $120.00. Although many people admired her beautiful necklaces, they often balked at the price. Several months ago, she added a line of wire wrapped sterling silver rings and bangle bracelets, both of which incorporated semiprecious beads into their design. They were quick to make and used a minimum of materials. She priced the bracelets in the $20.00 to $30.00 range and rings in the $10.00 range. Not only did sales of her rings and bracelets skyrocket, so did sales of her necklaces! It's possible that because she had the more affordable bracelets and rings on display, people were staying in her booth longer and, ultimately, convincing themselves that they needed one of her gorgeous necklaces also. Impulse items can be great traffic builders!
If your sales at craft and jewelry shows aren't meeting your expectations, give this idea a try. You might find it's just the boost you need to handmade jewelry business needs!
